The soil is made up of different elements that need support to best carry out its natural function. The soil must always remain alive and healthy, to ensure flourishing and prosperous growth.
1) The function of organic substances: To provide the correct organic contribution in quantity and type, you need to know the properties of the soil. Each type requires its own treatment with different fertilizers. Manure and composted material are the main ingredients of organic fertilization. To these are added hay, bark or grass. All these elements contribute to rebuilding the humus of the soil.
2) Stimulate the plant roots: Fertilizing the soil has an impact on the development of the plant roots. A soil rich in substances stimulates the roots to search for nutrients, allowing for healthy and continuous growth. Given the lack of these, the roots will not explore the subsoil, reducing access to water and nutrients, with the risk of slowing down or even interrupting their growth.
3) Nutrients: Fertilization must consider the nutrients that plants absorb from the soil. Elements such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and calcium are essential. But magnesium and sulfur also play a crucial role in plant growth. If one of these elements is overlooked, the entire system suffers and the plants become weakened, leaving them vulnerable to disease and attacks by insects and parasites.
